The Way of Kings - Brandon Sanderson

I have heard about Brandon Sanderson for a longtime. Initially, I bought his famous book "Elantris" and gave it a try. The story was good, but I trailed off.

After reading lot of reviews about "The Way of Kings", I bought it. I started reading the book a month back, the story is amazing and simple superb. It captures you into it and won't release you until you are completely done. So, don't start reading the book if you are not on a vacation.

If you are new to Fantasy and you want to read a book after Harry Potter and LOTR, "The Way of Kings" is the book for you. I really love the book, awaiting for more books in the series.

Here are some of the Quotes from the book:

“The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.”

“Sometimes the prize is not worth the costs. The means by which we achieve victory are as important as the victory itself.”

“Life before Death.
Strength before Weakness.
Journey before Destination.”

The Sword of Truth Series

Terry Goodkind is one of my favorite author. He wrote the Fantasy Series "The Sword of Truth". The series is a good and easy read. I enjoyed all the books in the series, next to Harry Potter. I must warn you that this series is not like Harry Potter, this is Grown-Up Fantasy. It starts with "Wizard's First Rule".

=> Debt of Bones (1998) (Prequel novella)

1. Wizard's First Rule (1994) - read
2. Stone of Tears (1995) - read
3. Blood of the Fold (1996) - read
4. Temple of the Winds (1997) - read
5. Soul of the Fire (1999) - read
6. Faith of the Fallen (2000) - read
7. The Pillars of Creation (2002) - read
8. Naked Empire (2003)
9. Chainfire (2005)
10. Phantom (2006)
11. Confessor (2007) - read

=> The First Confessor: The Legend of Magda Searus (2012) (Prequel novella)

1. The Omen Machine (2011)
2. The Third Kingdom (Summer 2013)

=> The Law of Nines (2009) (Related novel)

Terry Goodkind writing style is really good and easy, as the story goes it takes on a Fast pace. All his novels has a specific Philosophical Theme. He is also a Big Fan of my all-time favorite author Ayn Rand.

Every Books emphasizes a particular Rule called "Wizard's Rules". The first 3 of the Rules are:
  • “People are stupid. They can be made to believe any lie because either they want to believe it's true or because they are afraid it's true.”
  • “The greatest harm can result from the best intentions.”
  • “Passion rules reason, for better or for worse.”
Enjoy Reading the series guys !!!
